Ecx torment 2wd1/28/2024 ![]() The lesson here is, there are tons of adjustments you can make to change how your car performs, but ultimately it is your driving style that will dictate how you setup your car. If you add positive toe, then make SURE you have enough rear traction or adding positive toe will not work. If you are pushing on corner exit on power, then add positive toe. You mention that you want your car to turn better? Where in the turn does it lack? Meaning, is it pushing on the initial entry to the turn? Or does it push on corner exit while on power? If you need more corner entry turn in, then add negative toe. By limiting droop (making the lowest part of the down travel on the arm less than before) you will also limit the amount of weight transfer to the outer or 'loaded' tires as the 'unloaded' side will lift less. Droop is how far your suspension arm will drop back down completely unloaded (with the car in the air). Your shock pistons will also have an effect on damping.ģ) Limit shock travel or droop. If your track is bumpy (not talking about jumps but little ruts and irregularities) than going too high in shock oil will make your car handle poorly. This is recommended on high traction and smooth environments. Essentially, you are making the weight transfer I talked about in point #1 happen slower. This will increase damping in your shocks. This will make your car roll more and allow the car to shift more weight to the outside tire.Ģ) Increase shock oil weight. ![]() For example, if your overall ride height is 30mm vs 25mm, then your vehicle will have more room on the outside or 'loaded' tire to compress. The lower your ride height, the less room you have on your 'loaded' side on the turn to affect the shift in weight during the turn. This is probably the easiest and quickest way to change your vehicles handling characteristics. There are three general ways to lower or limit body roll.ġ) Lower ride height. Since you're running lipo's, I would upgrade the transmission to the metal gear tranny for $20. ![]() It's not worth upgrading parts if they're not broken. I will, like JK47 said, replace broken parts with upgraded parts. In the 3 months I've had the truck, I've only broken the driveshafts. I cartwheeled the truck end over end 5 times at full throttle and nothing broke. The Torment is a fun truck to drive and can take a lot of abuse. If I break the Traxxas shaft, I'm going with MIP 8106 steel cvd's. I have a Traxxas Slash 4x4 shaft on the left side. I ended up breaking the ECX driveshaft on the right side. It was our first time at this track and it is VERY WELL taken care of. by the time we left, we were both better drivers. old son and I, teaching us about throttle control, making sure we line the truck up straight before going into a jump, etc. The president of the club at the track was kind enough to spend some time with my 6 yr. I'm learning how to navigate and drive the new track, which doubles I can make and which ones I can't, braking.everything. it was like driving on concrete with loose dust on top. I'd been at a track that wasnt taken care of at all. I got a good set of tires on all 4 corners and I'm getting practice time at my new home track.
